Erick Carlson – Owner
Based on nearly a decade as an automotive technician and on his appreciation for German and Japanese vehicles, Erick founded Quantum Mechanics in 2006. He lives in Atlanta, and some of his favorite activities are cycling and traveling. Erick would like to someday start sailing, but considering his susceptibility to motion sickness, this is a very ambitious goal. He takes the work of Quantum Mechanics very seriously, but tries to not take himself too seriously.
Spencer Tondreau – Service Advisor
Spencer joined the Quantum Mechanics team in 2012. When not helping our clients navigate their way through the vehicle repair process, he enjoys playing golf, nerding-out about baseball, representing his amazing novelty sock collection, and fulfilling his role as an ambassador for the Oxford comma. Spencer is also a very talented musician, having played as many as nine instruments at the performance level. He spends his lunch breaks further mastering his guitar skills.
Hugh White – Technician
Hugh joined the Quantum Mechanics team in 2010 as a master-level technician. He has a wife, a daughter, a son, and a tabby cat named Peta. A proud family man, Hugh spends much of his time at football games, R/C car tracks, and riding BMX.
Chris Hovatter – Technician
Chris started with Quantum Mechanics in 2009. He has expertise in servicing and repairing a wide range of German and Japanese vehicles, but still has a soft spot in his heart for BMWs. Chris lives in Decatur with his wife, two kids, and their cat, Biscuit. He is a US Soccer certified coach, and enjoys his time out on the soccer field, at the R/C car track, and mountain biking.
Cody Lowe – Technician
Cody began with Quantum Mechanics in 2016. He is both an automotive enthusiast and technician, and has a particular affinity for Acura and Honda vehicles. Cody and his partner have two sons, and he spends his spare time attending tee ball games, road cycling, and enjoying Mediterranean food.
Eric McGuire – Workshop Assistant
Eric began at Quantum Mechanics in 2015, and quite simply makes everything operate more smoothly. From assisting technicians with cars, to shuttling clients, to picking up parts, to facilities maintenance, and much more, Eric is an integral part of Quantum Mechanics. In 2016, Eric successfully completed his wheel alignment certification and continues to develop his automotive technical skills. He demonstrates leadership skills with intern mentoring, and enjoys playing soccer, fishing, and rooting for his favorite collegiate football team. “Roll Tide!”
