We are firm believers in performing complete timing belt jobs. Depending on the specific engine configuration, this will typically include replacement of the timing belt itself, as well as the timing belt tensioner, timing belt roller-bearing(s), front camshaft and crankshaft oil seals, water pump, engine coolant, and accessory drive belt(s). And in some instances, it makes sense to re-seal the oil pump, which is usually behind the timing belt. The bulk of the cost of these jobs are labor for the technician to actually gain access to the timing belt area, so it makes sense to go ahead and do the whole job by replacing all of these related items– items that would likely have failed before the next timing belt interval. We do the whole job correctly the first time, so that it won’t need to be redone!
